Does this count as reggae? I don’t know, but I liked it, so probably not, but Jimmy Cliff was on the list of reggae artists my father gave me. I liked the album quite a bit. It was relaxing. Maybe I’m just opening up to it a little bit.

I don’t know about reggae itself, but I kind of liked this album. I’m not saying I’m going to rush out and buy it, but I’ll probably listen to it again. I can see putting this album on this Christmas. I’ll dance with my dad, because my son won’t dance with me when people are watching. He’ll laugh, though, with that deep six-year-old laughter that comes out in happy family moments. You can never get too many of those moments.

Yes.

Would I spend money on this album?

Probably.

Will I add any songs to my collection?

None in particular, but they might all make their way in eventually.

This album was suggested by a web acquaintance. I thought it was cute, and a bit bouncy. It was fun, good for dancing. Everyone needs to shake it once in a while. It’s good for the soul. There didn’t seem to be much I could relate to in the lyrics, but I’m at a different place in my life. Eh… it happens. It’s certainly better than the alternative.

Would I listen to this album again?

Maybe. I wouldn’t be opposed to it.

Probably not.

I’m still not a reggae fan, but my dad is and he suggested some of his favorites. I rationalized that since he gave me life, I can listen to a few albums in his honor. I am starting to see why other people enjoy reggae, even if I don’t. This album did not irritate me, which is progress. I might have been too irritated about other things for this to bother me. On the other hand, as a general rule, established irritation tends to enhance other irritants. Maybe it’s growing on me…

Would I listen to this album again?

I might not seek it out, but I wouldn’t run from the room either.

Would I spend money on this album?

Not for myself. I could see gifting it.

The beats on this album were great, but the lyrics were hit or miss with me. The tracks I liked, though, I loved. Even the tracks that didn’t fly my kite were fun to listen to because of his unusual approaches with his lyrics. His accent helped too. This is going in the win column and I will definitely be checking out more of his work.

Yes.

Would I spend money on this album?

Yes, but I’d be more excited about it if I found a deal.

Vitamin String Quartet was listed as one of the top artists in Lala’s classical section, so I decided to give them a spin. Come to find out, they take modern music and perform it as a classical piece. How novel, I thought, this could be interesting. Little did I know, I would come to appreciate the classical covers sometimes more than the originals. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire album and have already started exploring the rest of their body of work.

Would I listen to this album again?

Yes, absolutely.

Would I spend money on this album?

Yes, in a heartbeat.

Will I add any songs to my collection?

Yes, I want them all!
